Camilo Parra, AIA, Houston, was one of eight recipients of the 2009 AIA Young Architects Award. This special honor is bestowed upon professionals licensed 10 years or fewer (regardless of their age) who have shown exceptional leadership and make significant contributions to the profession early in their careers.

Camilo Parra received this award which identifies 40 young leaders who excel in their industries, are respected business leaders and show dynamic leadership in their community.

Camilo Parra was a member of Team 6, which also included: Genevieve Buentello, Antonio Flamenco, Mike Garcia, and David Robinson. Team 6 won honors for the best architecture in the Awakening Willow Waterhole charette. The drawing, done by Antonio Flamenco, is of the proposed Nature Center.
